Facebook announces reading news paper for Apple iPhone
Facebook allows you to read the News Paper Feed , using only gesture . The application will be available from 3 February in the United States .
After rumors of recent days, Facebook has officially announced News Paper for iPhone. The new standalone app allows users to view the News Feed the social network in a completely different way, using a design style Flip board organized into sections that can be browsed with a simple swipe horizontally. Facebook Paper will be available from 3 February only on the Apple device and only in the United States. Has not been provided with any information on the distribution in other countries.
Paper has not been developed to replace the main app , but includes the features most used by users , or the display of news, photos and video . The layout is quite similar to that of Facebook Home with the absence of buttons and other interface elements . The contents are in fact shown in full screen within tabs . As you can see in the video , the company’s Menlo Park has introduced a new set of gestures to navigate in the application. To make the panning of panoramic photos is enough to tilt the smartphone .
As a newspaper, even Facebook Paper is divided into sections focusing on various topics, including photography , sports, food , design, science, etc. . Each section has a main screen with a picture of the cover and a list of tabs at the bottom . The sources of the news is coming from large news sites that ” emerging voices ” . You can not select sources and there is no offline reading . The order in which they appear is determined by an algorithm (based on personal taste ) and a team of people.
The user can publish a post on Paper (and on Facebook ), using an elegant WYSIWYG editor to insert text and photos. There are of course the classic buttons for like and comments . For those who access the social network above to read the news , Facebook Paper may be the best choice. And there are not even the banners , at least for now the app is ad-free .
