Apple iPhone sales track good: More than 43 million iPhones sold

The iPhone holds its own against the growing pressure of competition and brought Apple back growth in sales and profit. The group sold over the past three months, 43.7 million of its smartphones. That was more than most analysts had expected.

Sales in the end of March completed second fiscal quarter increased year over year by 4.7 percent to 45.6 billion U.S. dollars ( equivalent to about 33 billion euros ) . Profit for the quarter was 10.2 billion U.S. dollars – seven per cent more than in the same quarter last year . The iPhone sales were up 17 percent year over year .
iPad weakens slightly
The iPad sales , however, proved weaker than expected by experts. He declined year on year by 16 percent to 16.3 million units. In this case, Apple had updated the model range only in the fall .
