Americans are hungry for BMW electric car
BMW sees in the U.S. the main market for its electric models i3 and i8 . The i3- production at the Leipzig plant had been specially ramped up to 100 vehicles per day because of the demand from the U.S. , BMW board Klaus Draeger said at the international launch of the i8 in Santa Monica ( California). He believes that the U.S. will be the largest market for the electrically driven and with a three-cylinder combustion engine i8 .
