Google Buys Divide: A Security App for Mobile Device Manager
The U.S. Internet giant Google announced on its website, its latest acquisition “Divide”. The lucky winner is Divide which is a security App for Android mobile device. A New York-based start-up that specialized in security and control of mobile devices for business. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
For its part, Divide her teams will join those working on the Google Android mobile operating system software used by a large number of manufacturers of smartphones and tablets in the world.
Divide was founded in 2010 by several former technical staff of the bank Morgan Stanley, which had been faced with the need to manage BlackBerry thousands of its employees.
Offering Divide specifically targets the trend BYOD ( bring your own device ) by which salarisés use their smartphones or tablets to access the personal professional corporate network .
Divide successfully provides a cloud-based security service that lets corporates and big organizations oversee and manage mobile devices used by employees on their networks. The Divide software can create separate work environments on personal devices used by employees, offers a number of security features and also supports both Android and iOS Mobile devices.
